I like visual aids for organizational purposes, so I made this “wheel of management” thingy to help me figure out schedules for my leads.

Central circle has days of the week, each other circle represents a manager. White is working, black is a day off. I know which days are heavy, so if I see too much black on said days, I’ll instantly know there may be issues and revisions to the plan may be needed.

Now... What I REALLY want is a way to rotate each circle individually so as to be able to play with scheduling a bit. It’s easy enough to do mentally now with just three people, but the management team is growing and I want a clear and simple way to visualize the schedule. Easy to scale up as the team grows in size, usable from anywhere via shared Google Drive files.....

Any ideas on how to build what I want? My design experience is limited to MS paint and sketchup...

I feel like I need to build a program, but I’m trying to convince myself otherwise.

If you are willing to consider something other than a circle, you could use Excel or another spreadsheet program. Each row can be a day of the week and each column can be a manager (or vice versa.) You can easily sort the rows.

Otherwise, go old-school. Create a blank version with as many rings as you need, but without the schedule filled in. Print as many copies as you have rings. Cut one out for the smallest circle, the next for the second circle and so on. Stack them, put a pin through the middle and use removable stickers to mark it. Spin the rings around the pin as needed.

I might have a solution for you; check your Instagram DMs. The circular design is pretty cool.

It’s a type of Sunburst chart. You ma be able to reproduce and modify it in Excel
